DESCRIPTION

For this student project, we were asked to design a magazine using two articles: ‘Text’ by Ellen Lupton and ‘The importance of Environmental Graphic Design in urban spaces’ by Roula Ganoti and Iro Laskari. VECTOR is a publication that explores the different design systems that are used to communicate information and navigate the world around us. Issue 01, ‘From Point A to B’, showcases how road signage uses minimalist graphic imagery to define and restrict our movement within urban spaces.  The visual style is a playful take on Swiss Design, whose key principles of simplicity, readability and objectivity align with the design of road signage. Issue 01 features a system of glyphs that are used to assist the reader in navigating the text, which are used throughout the body text and pull quotes.

SAY HI!

I acknowledge the Dharug People as the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which I live, work and play. I pay my respects to their Elders past and present, and recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the Traditional Artists, Designers and Storytellers throughout Country. This always was, always will be, Aboriginal Land.
