ARTIST GRAPHIC DESIGNER MANGO LOVER

Hi there—nice to meet you!

I’m Teo Tabar, a Filipino-Australian artist and graphic designer in their third year studying Visual Communication at UTS. I have a particular interest in print, packaging, branding, illustration and comics.

To me, design is all about storytelling—creating narratives that uplift and inspire others and bring people together. I explore a variety of themes in my work but I especially love to tell stories about my culture, identity and lived experiences. I value diversity, inclusivity and representation, and believe that design is for everyone.

I never settle for a one-size-fits-all solution and enjoy the challenge of adapting my skills and techniques according to different contexts. I’m always curious and love finding inspiration in all sorts of places like art/design history, video games, anime and manga—resulting in a flexible, diverse visual style that I think is what makes me unique! When I’m not designing, you can find me doing nerdy things like reading manga or playing rhythm games at the nearest arcade.

SAY HI!

I acknowledge the Dharug People as the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which I live, work and play. I pay my respects to their Elders past and present, and recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the Traditional Artists, Designers and Storytellers throughout Country. This always was, always will be, Aboriginal Land.
