METAMORPHOSIS (2024)
SCOPE
DESCRIPTION
This student project asked us to create a scrolling graphic narrative inspired by the research of Dr. Claire Rowe, particularly her research on the Upside-Down Jellyfish. In response I digitally illustrated a comic titled ‘Metamorphosis’, a personal anecdote about my gender identity parallel to the life cycle of the Upside-Down Jellyfish. The visual language comprises of a monochrome blue colour scheme with soft, airbrushed forms, setting the vulnerable, melancholic tone of the comic whilst evoking the transparency and fluidity of water.Inspired by the article ‘Survival Stories | Meet the Scientist: Dr Claire Rowe’ by Zoe Sadokierski and Ceridwen Dovey.
